A little bit about The Humble Cook


I started making nougat to sell at local markets in 2003, after a stint in the city led me home to Uralla. While it took me a few years to take the leap and make it part of my full time occupation, in 2008 the stars aligned and I officially became committed to the cause of the perfect nougat bar. Among other things.

The range soon evolved in to hot chocolate blends with real flavour, brittles made using Australian peanuts and pecans and old fashioned caramel. My full range is an evolving one though, including seasonal fruit cake runs, chai blends, dukkah and a few creative surprises.

At different times of the year I put together new product lines and some limited edition gifts, so keep an eye on our facebook page (thehumblecook) and instagram page (@thehumblecooks) for special releases, that will also appear here on the website and in a few wonderful retail outlets.

My personal commitment to the environment has led to careful and deliberate decisions around packaging and ingredients. You will see that my products are either sold in recyclable glass jars or cardboard gift boxes, both with paper labels. I use recycled and recyclable wrapping and boxes, and source my ingredients as locally as possible.
